Yesterday Mikhail Kalashnikov (Михаил Калашников) died at the age of 94
He was best known for designing the AK-47 action that is used in a lot of Russian guns
(AK74, PSL, Dragonov, SAIGA-12, RPK, 74u and others)
He designed the weapon to defend his country that at the time was being invaded by the W
ehrmacht,
Used by freedom fighters and tyrants alike this weapon has seen more combat then any other firearm in history.
Popularized by video games, And movies everyone can identify this rifle.
Made to be simple to use, Simple to manufacture, Rugged, Reliable, Accurate enough, It is solider proof.

My AK is my plinker and my hog hunting gun, And i have never been let down by it.

Thank you Mikhail Kalashnikov for such a feat of engineering,
And it will be used for years and years to come much like browning's 1911 handgun and M2 machine gun.
